Design and construction of multipurpose modular buildings at Pla de Fenals

Summary

The contract covers the replacement and expansion of the existing multipurpose modules on Pla de Fenals in Lloret de Mar. The contractor must prepare the basic and detailed designs and the activity-permit design, supervise the works, and construct the replacement modules. The proposed building has an approximate floor area of 308 m² and is to use an industrialised modular or lightweight construction system. This is a single, undivided mixed contract. The estimated contract value is €566,748.31 excluding VAT; the maximum budget including 21% VAT is €685,765.46. The total delivery period is up to 30 weeks: the basic design and fire-service annex are due within 4 weeks; the detailed design, activity-permit design and health and safety study are due within 6 weeks of initial approval of the basic design; and construction must be completed within 20 weeks from commencement. The award is conditional on the grant requested from the Girona Provincial Council being awarded. The bidder must demonstrate the required works classification and provide qualified designers, a site manager and a works foreperson with the specified experience. Evaluation awards up to 60 points for price, 15 for the architect’s additional relevant experience, 10 for an extended warranty, and 15 for the works programme and environmental and waste-management proposals. The minimum works warranty is 2 years and may be extended to 7 years. No bid guarantee is required, but the successful bidder must provide a final guarantee of 5% of the contract price excluding VAT.
