Tender detail
Proton-transfer-reaction mass spectrometer (PTR-MS)
Summary
The procurement covers the supply of one proton-transfer-reaction mass spectrometer (PTR-MS) for the Institute of Food Chemistry and Biotechnology at Justus Liebig University Giessen. The instrument must detect volatile compounds in real time in reaction-vessel headspace and bioreactor exhaust air, with latency below one second. For protonated sesquiterpenes at a mass-to-charge ratio of 205 m/z, mass resolving power must be at least 1000 m/Δm. Isomer analysis must be ensured through prior separation of the compounds or another method. The instrument must use H₃O⁺ ions and allow the generation of different precursor ions; samples must be capable of dilution, and humidity control must be available or unnecessary for direct connection to bioreactor exhaust air. The supplier must also provide analysis software licences for at least three workstations, train at least three employees at the installation site, provide comprehensive manuals for all components, and transport, install and commission the instrument. Delivery should take no more than six months after the order is confirmed. The bid submission deadline is 6 October 2026 at 12:00. The bid must include the required eligibility and compliance declarations and evidence. The contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender, with the award criteria set out in the tender documents.
