KIT Patent Services
Summary
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is procuring patent services to maintain the validity of its patents, utility models and related applications. The work includes preparing an up-to-date schedule of fees normally due each year, monitoring and paying those fees on time to patent offices in Germany and abroad, and establishing service addresses in the relevant countries. As of 30 July 2026, the portfolio comprised approximately 1,598 intellectual property rights. The provider must have at least five years of experience with digital interface communication involving the PatInForm software and must communicate with the contracting authority in German using clear language that does not require specialist knowledge. The bid must describe the provider’s working approach, workflow supervision, handling of currency fluctuations, response time to payment instructions and quality management at foreign service addresses. The required bid declaration and its annexes must be included, including the reference form and the checklist of additional suitability criteria. The contract is not divided into lots, and alternative bids are not permitted. The contract starts on 1 January 2027, with an initial term until 31 December 2029 and two one-year extension options for the contracting authority. The bid submission deadline is 3 November 2026 at 10:00. The sole award criterion is the annual total price, weighted at 100%; the lowest-priced bid will win.
