Development of a methodology for assessing aquathermal heat supply potential from surface waters (Doris)

Summary

The project will develop a scientifically grounded, reproducible methodology for assessing and spatially representing aquathermal heat supply potential from surface waters in Germany. It will distinguish and link the different levels of potential, account for technical, ecological and other constraints as well as cumulative effects of multiple uses, and establish a structured dataset of relevant water-body information. The work will also lay the conceptual foundations for future spatial mapping of aquathermal potential.
