Tender detail
Restoration of Pöppelmann Bridge at the GRI Conference Centre
Summary
The tender concerns the restoration and structural strengthening of Pöppelmann Bridge in Grillenburg, in the Tharandt Forest, to ensure its continued use. The works include repairing and repointing the sandstone masonry, replacing damaged stones, injecting cracks and masonry areas, and renewing damaged masonry copings. The existing vault backfill must also be removed, and a new load-bearing structure founded on micropiles must be built, including reinforced-concrete abutments, pile-cap beams and a structural slab. The bridge deck must be waterproofed and surfaced with mastic asphalt. The works also include renewing the drainage, fall-protection barriers, cable ducts and lighting, as well as the bridge approach areas. The procurement is not divided into lots, and variants are not permitted. Bids must be submitted electronically in German by 10:00 on 20 October 2026. The works are scheduled from 2 November 2026 to 30 April 2027, and the lowest price is the sole award criterion. Bidders must demonstrate suitability either through entry in the construction-company prequalification register or by submitting a suitability declaration with the bid; further details must be checked in the tender documents.
