GNSS-timed fronthaul switches

Summary

TU Dortmund is procuring nine GNSS-timed Ethernet fronthaul switches for its 6G mobile communications research: three higher-port-count aggregation switches and six compact switches. The supply also includes nine GNSS antenna kits and compatible SFP+ and SFP28 optical transceivers for each device. The switches must carry Open RAN fronthaul traffic and provide precise PTP and SyncE synchronisation, GNSS time reference, the specified interoperability, and management and security functions. Three compact switches must support an extended temperature range for use on mobile outdoor platforms. The offer must demonstrate compliance with the technical requirements and include equipment data sheets and manuals, evidence of the PTP accuracy class, holdover and power-consumption information, and the delivery time in weeks. The net price ceiling is EUR 144,000; offers exceeding it will be excluded from evaluation. Price is the only award criterion, and alternative offers are not permitted. The offer must be submitted electronically by 30 October 2026 at 10:00. A bidder consortium must identify all members and its authorised representative and meet the suitability criteria collectively. The relevant forms must be submitted if the bidder relies on another company’s capacity or plans to subcontract.
