Development of a product- and process-related CO2 footprint

Summary

This tender concerns the award of a sub-contract for developing a product- and process-related CO2 footprint for the pilot-scale fermentation process developing protein-rich food ingredients from brewer's spent grain. The contractor shall develop a robust assessment framework according to ISO 14067 and the GHG Protocol, collect and model material and energy flows and establish system boundaries and a functional unit, identify major emission drivers, and propose optimization opportunities and foundations for future industrial scaling. The project requires proven experience in the food/beverage or brewing industry, biotechnology or fermentation, and early-stage development (TRL 3–6).
