Introducing an Intelligent Mixed Municipal Waste Collection System in Trebišov

Summary

The contract covers the complete supply, installation, commissioning and software integration of an intelligent mixed municipal waste collection system for the City of Trebišov, followed by a guaranteed two-year lifecycle service. The system comprises 49 smart collection points and 109 weighing systems, central waste-management control software, a mobile application for residents, two-way integration with the city’s Cora Geo information system, and 9,000 encrypted access chips. Staff training is also included. The estimated value is EUR 1,600,000, with a planned delivery period of eight months. Bids will be assessed on lifecycle costs over two years (50%), software quality and usability (15%), robustness of the weighing mechanism (15%), battery lifespan and environmental performance (10%), and the software’s environmental contribution (10%). Bids must include technical documentation and interface screenshots for assessment of the software, as well as a description of the routing algorithm and dispatch interface screenshots for assessment of environmental benefits. The system must include predictive collection-route optimisation using fill-level data. Under the contract, at least 70% of non-hazardous construction and demolition waste generated while preparing the collection-point sites must be reused or recycled, with compliance documented at handover. Plastic components and protective conduits must be made from recyclable materials and comply with RoHS and REACH. LiFePO4 batteries with a guaranteed lifespan exceeding 4,000 charging cycles receive a scoring advantage. No tender guarantee is required. The procurement uses an open procedure.
