Operation of Banedanmark's railway sleeper factory

Summary

Banedanmark is seeking a service provider to operate its railway sleeper factory in Fredericia on a day-to-day basis. Using the factory’s production equipment, the contractor must manufacture and deliver prestressed-concrete railway sleepers, including track sleepers and switch sleepers, ensure production quality, procure necessary materials, cooperate with Banedanmark and arrange loading of finished sleepers. Preparations are expected to begin in September 2027, with the contractor expected to take over operations on 1 January 2028. The standard contract term is 48 months, with two possible 24-month extensions. The estimated total value is DKK 560 million, and price is the sole award criterion. The procedure includes negotiations, and up to five of the most suitable applicants will be invited to tender. Applicants must, among other things, meet the turnover, equity and relevant experience requirements and submit an ESPD.
