Redevelopment of Grote Markt in Aalst: sewerage and road works

Summary

The contract covers the redevelopment of Grote Markt and adjoining streets in Aalst. The works include removing existing surfacing, pavements and sewers; earthworks and foundation works; and installing a separate sewerage system with connections to properties and street gullies. The square and adjoining streets will be paved with natural stone, landscaped areas with 17 trees will be created, and street furniture will be installed. The works also include a geothermal borehole field to provide heating and passive cooling for the belfry and old town hall, and relocation of the Dirk Martens statue. The planned contract duration is 628 days. Bidders must hold Belgian contractor recognition and registration in category C for road construction works, class 7.
