Liquid nitrogen and rental of storage tanks for the University of Aveiro laboratories

Summary

The University of Aveiro is procuring liquid nitrogen for 36 months, together with the rental and installation of fixed and mobile cryogenic tanks for its laboratories. Nitrogen purity must be at least 99.999%. Delivery is required to the university's laboratories and departments in Aveiro and the other locations listed in the tender documents; orders generally must be fulfilled within 24 hours, or within 3 hours in an emergency. The supplier is responsible for tank installation and connections, maintenance, technical assistance and round-the-clock monitoring. The contract ceiling is EUR 326,138.40 excluding VAT, and price is the sole award criterion. At the end of each contract year, the supplier must provide an independent, quantified certificate of carbon-emissions reductions based on the use of 100% renewable energy at relevant stages of the product life cycle. The bid must include the required pricing and technical documents, including descriptions of the nitrogen and tanks and the methodology used to calculate the carbon footprint. The successful bidder must provide security equal to 5% of the contract price.
