Food First – Procurement of a Digital Platform for Food Aid

Summary

The City of Turku is procuring a digital platform to coordinate donated surplus food arriving at a logistics centre and improve the food-aid collection experience. The system is intended to support food delivery reservations, distribution, community meals and access to other support services, with the longer-term aim of receiving information from donors’ systems or processing delivery lists and emailed information. Initial functionality is to be piloted in the first quarter of 2027, required features are due by the end of August 2027, and any ordered optional features are to be introduced during 2027. The service contract runs until 31 December 2029 and then continues indefinitely; one supplier will be selected.
