Orthopaedic Specialist Medical Services

Summary

The tender concerns the provision of orthopaedic specialist medical services in the Kainuu region. The services include outpatient consultations at the surgical clinic, weekday and weekend on-call services, orthopaedic operations and, if needed, work on the surgical ward. Around 15 patients are planned per outpatient clinic day; if the work consists solely of consultations, this is the maximum daily patient volume. Weekday on-call duty runs Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. the following day. Weekend on-call duty starts Friday at 3:00 p.m. and ends Monday at 8:00 a.m.; active work accounts for approximately 30–50% of the duty period. Operating theatre services are provided in one operating room from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The contract runs from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028, with an option for the contracting authority to extend it by one year.
