The tender concerns winter maintenance of courtyards and parking areas at Raasepori city properties in six lots covering the Tammisaari and Karjaa areas. The services include snow ploughing, snow removal and relocation, winter gritting, dust suppression and removal of gritting sand. Courtyards and parking areas must remain accessible to cars, taxis, ambulances and fire engines. Dry loose snow should generally be removed when its average depth reaches 5 cm; on weekdays, parking areas should normally be cleared before 6:30 and serviced again after the normal working day when necessary. Snow banks must be removed, among other cases, when they obstruct visibility or endanger traffic safety, exceed 1 metre in height, or exceed 0.5 metres near pedestrian crossings and access points. Washed sand or washed crushed stone must be used for gritting; approximately 2% salt may be added when needed, while the mixture used during continuous snowfall may contain 5–20% salt.
