Supply of Christmas nougat and sweets to Paradores establishments

Summary

The procurement covers the supply of Christmas nougat and other festive sweets to the Paradores de Turismo de España hotel and restaurant network for use in restaurants and group menus. All four products must be offered: almond polvorón, milk-chocolate-and-almond nougat, hard Alicante nougat and soft Jijona nougat. Technical specifications vary by product: almond polvorón must contain at least 38% roasted Marcona almonds (25–28 g per piece, 4 kg pack, at least 7 months’ shelf life); milk-chocolate-and-almond nougat at least 40% Marcona almonds (12–15 g per piece, 2 kg pack, at least 15 months’ shelf life); hard Alicante nougat at least 68% Marcona almonds and soft Jijona nougat at least 70% almonds (10–12 g and 20–22 g per piece respectively, 4 kg packs, at least 15 months’ shelf life). The boxes for both nougat types must carry the protected geographical indication quality seals. All products must meet the technical specifications and applicable legislation. The bidder must offer every product and provide the required food-safety and product documentation. It must be prepared to provide samples for a blind tasting if requested; samples are due within 72 hours, and the bidder pays for testing. Deliveries are made against orders from individual Paradores establishments: the minimum order is €100 per establishment, with no more than one order per week; delivery is due within 4 working days to establishments on mainland Spain and within 8 working days to the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. Partial deliveries are not accepted. Offers are assessed on technical quality (60 points) and price (40 points); the minimum technical-quality threshold is 50 out of 100. The annual budget is €53,016 excluding VAT, and the estimated total contract value, including a possible extension and modifications, is €112,940.14 excluding VAT. The contract runs for one year and may be extended for a further year; the buyer guarantees no minimum purchase volume.
