Sale of CO2 absorption rights

Summary

The tender sells 1,522 tonnes of CO2 absorption rights by ascending auction from two forestry projects in Castrillo Mota de Judíos: 304 tonnes from project 2025-b394 and 1,218 tonnes from project 2025-b395. The rights originate from sites of 12.91 and 54.79 hectares respectively and may be used for voluntary carbon footprint compensation or corporate social responsibility purposes. The purchase does not grant rights to the land or trees, or access to or permission to carry out work in the forest; the rights are transferred by registry entry after the full purchase price has been paid. The starting rate is €21 per tonne and the minimum total price is €31,962 excluding VAT; 21% VAT applies. The bidder offering the highest price wins. Bids must be submitted electronically within 18 calendar days from the day after publication of the contract notice, together with proof of a €1,598.10 provisional guarantee. Bidders must be legally eligible to contract and have an organisation suitable for acquiring the absorption rights; registration in Section A of Spain’s Carbon Footprint Register is preferred but not mandatory.
