Decarbonised value chains

Summary

Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH is commissioning a study on the decarbonisation of value chains in energy-intensive basic-material industries. The study covers material and substance flows, their transformation, strategic interdependencies and low-emission business models in the steel, chemicals, cement, lime, ceramics, glass, non-ferrous metals and paper sectors. The 18-month assignment comprises project design and three successive work packages: analysis of baseline and target models, examination of at least 24 strategic flows and related business models, and an integrated study with recommendations and sector-specific infographics.
