Hazardous Materials Investigation of Eight Structures

Summary

The State of North Rhine-Westphalia’s road authority is procuring hazardous-material investigations of eight bridges and other engineering structures before their demolition. The work includes reviewing existing records, inspecting the structures, taking samples and conducting laboratory analyses, assessing hazardous substances and options for recovery or disposal, and preparing demolition and waste-management concepts. At the B481 bridge in Greven, the void formers inside the hollow-core slab must also be investigated using radar and endoscopic methods. The procurement is a single lot covering all eight structures.
