Freiheitstraße Traffic Study and Preliminary Design

Summary

The City of Remscheid is procuring a traffic study and preliminary design for the approximately 1.6 km Freiheitstraße, from the Amtsgericht junction to Willy-Brandt-Platz. The work includes current traffic surveys and modelling, assessment of alternatives, preliminary designs for different street-layout options, and detailed studies of seven junctions, including roundabout options at Blumenstraße and Alleestraße. The plans are to address all modes of transport, accessibility, parking, greenery and climate resilience, and include visualisations, public engagement and a final report. Optional services include further design stages, support for funding applications, and assessments of noise and air-pollution impacts.
