Summary

The tender concerns technical design services for the extension of Frankfurt’s U5 light rail line by approximately 1.4 km with two above-ground stations. It is divided into three lots: 1) overhead line design, 2) traction power supply design including two rectifier substations and object planning for modular buildings, and 3) communications and control technology design. The services mainly cover HOAI design phases 1–4, with phases 5–7 potentially commissioned separately by the contracting authority. BIM coordination, model quality control, drawing extraction, and model-based quantity and cost calculations are included in the scope. A bidder may tender for up to three lots. The requirements include average annual gross turnover of at least EUR 1,000,000 during the last three completed financial years, the specified liability insurance, at least 5 architects or engineers and 2 technical draftspeople, and at least one relevant company reference for each lot tendered, dating from 2016 onwards. Tenders must be submitted electronically in German by 14 October 2026 at 10:00; they must remain valid for 85 days. Price accounts for 80% of the award evaluation and the qualification and experience of key personnel for 20%.
