Tender detail
Traffic-related ammonia concentrations on federal motorways
Summary
The tender concerns a study of traffic-related ammonia concentrations on German federal motorways. The work includes a systematic review of scientific literature and one year of passive-sampler measurements at two locations: the A 555 measurement section near Wesseling and another heavily trafficked motorway site. Measurements must be taken on both sides of the carriageway every two weeks, with duplicate determinations for quality assurance. Laboratory analysis must be carried out by a laboratory accredited under DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. The study will analyse seasonal, meteorological and traffic-related effects, as well as interactions between ammonia, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. A windward–leeward comparison will be used to estimate the contribution of traffic to overall pollution levels. Based on the results, a plan must be developed for permanently integrating an ammonia monitoring system into the A 555 measurement section. Precise participation, qualification and compliance requirements must be checked in the official tender notice or tender documents.
