Automated goods transport system for the laboratory

Summary

The contract covers the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an automated goods transport system for the new laboratory building at Kiel University, together with inspection, maintenance and repair of the system. It must connect the basement, ground floor and three upper floors and move laboratory glassware, clean supplies, samples, stock and waste between laboratory areas. The work includes horizontal roller conveyors and stations, a five-level vertical small-goods lift, controls and electrical installations, transport carts and containers, testing, user training and technical documentation. The transport containers must carry loads of up to 50 kg. The overall system must handle at least 500 containers per hour, and inter-floor lifts must handle at least 400 containers per hour in each direction; the multi-level lift requirement is at least 500 containers per hour. The system must operate quietly: the specified equipment must remain below 55 dB(A), measured at a distance of one metre. Workshop and installation planning is to start in calendar week 3 of 2027, and the work must be completed by calendar week 48 of 2027. The bid deadline is 12 October 2026 at 09:30. Price is the only award criterion. If the maintenance component of an offer is not evaluable, the entire offer may be excluded.
