Tender detail

Engineering structure design for LWL routes in Erlangen and Tennenlohe

Summary

The tender concerns engineering structure design for three underground LWL routes supporting a high-performance data centre in Erlangen and the Tennenlohe area. The planned routes total approximately 4.6 km and include a microduct route between the data centre and the Tennenlohe motorway maintenance depot, plus two connections to existing duct routes. The assignment covers object planning under HOAI, initially for service phases 1–3, with further phases potentially called off in stages. Cable installation itself is not part of this contract. The estimated contract value is EUR 393,000 and the submission deadline is 5 October 2026. The award is based on several criteria: project-specific organisation (20%), project staff qualifications and experience (25%), the planning-phase approach (10%), the construction-phase approach (15%), and price (30%). The tender must include the required qualification evidence, three references, project team information, insurance evidence, the price and technical documents, and the completed tender spreadsheets. The bidder should be prepared to plan coordination with utility operators and authorities, route alternatives, permits, environmental constraints, trenchless construction and cable-plough installation, including a crossing of the A3 motorway. The contract sets key dates including service commencement on 3 November 2026, completion of the contractor’s services on 30 March 2029, construction commencement in May 2028 and construction completion in November 2028.
