Assessment of measures to support remnant populations of moor frogs
Summary
The Brandenburg State Office for the Environment is commissioning an assessment of habitat suitability and pressures affecting remnant moor frog populations at three water bodies near Karthan, Gadow and Rühstädt. The work includes surveying associated terrestrial habitats and nearby potential breeding waters, and proposing habitat-improvement measures, particularly for water retention, integration with land use and the species’ natural dispersal. Each site is expected to require about 40 hours of work over multiple visits between 1 March and the end of September 2027. Deliverables include a digital PDF report, maps of spatial results and the geodata produced, due by the end of November 2027.
