Improving landfill-gas collection at Alte Schanze and building a weak-gas flare

Summary

The contract covers construction works to improve the landfill-gas collection and use system at the Alte Schanze landfill near Paderborn. The works include building a weak-gas flare with heat recovery and connection to the district heating network, installing a new gas transmission pipeline and compressor station, repairing gas extraction pipes with condensate separators, and replacing control and measuring equipment at gas wells and collection stations. The new weak-gas flare has a thermal capacity of 50–500 kW, and the new compressor station has a capacity of 40–200 m³/h. The works are intended to improve landfill-gas capture and reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. The applicable BQS 10-1 landfill-gas quality standard must be observed during construction and operation, and a quality management plan must be submitted before the modified gas-utilisation plant is commissioned. Bids must be submitted electronically in text form through the Vergabe Westfalen portal by 29 October 2026 at 11:00.
