Procurement of a Grinding and Polishing Machine

Summary

The tender is for the procurement of a new semi-automatic grinding and polishing machine for the Technical University of Berlin. It will be used to prepare epoxy-mounted rock, mineral and petrographic samples, as well as thin sections, reproducibly for geoscientific, microscopic and materials-analysis work. The machine must process at least six samples with a diameter of 1 inch (25.4 mm) at once and produce even, flat surfaces; the supply also includes grinding and polishing media. The bidder must submit completed company declarations and technical documents demonstrating compliance with all mandatory specifications, along with confirmations of CE markings and spare-parts availability and information on connections and operating noise. The supply includes delivery, installation, commissioning and instruction for 2–4 staff. A warranty of at least 24 months, a manufacturer’s warranty of at least 12 months, technical support and spare-parts availability are required. Work must be completed as soon as possible and no later than 4–6 weeks after contract award. Price is the sole award criterion.
