ELW 1 Incident Command Vehicle

Summary

Erlangen’s fire service is procuring one ELW 1 incident command vehicle, which must comply, among other requirements, with DIN SPEC 14507-2:2014-04. The procurement is divided into two lots: (1) an all-wheel-drive chassis and (2) the specialist vehicle conversion, communications and computing equipment, and emergency-response equipment. Bidders may tender for either or both lots. The chassis must have an engine output of at least 140 kW (190 hp), and the vehicle’s permitted gross weight must not exceed 16,000 kg; its mileage at handover must be no more than 1,000 km. Lot 2 covers a safe, ergonomic interior conversion, command and radio workstations, electrical and lighting systems, and the emergency-response, medical and other equipment listed in the tender. The vehicle must be new, eligible for road registration and pass technical acceptance without defects. The bid must include, among other items, technical drawings, a mass and axle-load calculation, and an energy balance for the electrical system. For each lot, the award assessment weights price at 50%, technical requirements at 30%, and safety and accident-prevention requirements at 20%. The submission deadline is 27 October 2026 at 10:15. Delivery is due without delay after contract award and no later than 31 December 2027; the required warranty is at least 24 months from handover.
