Renovation of a large refrigeration plant in Building 09

Summary

The tender concerns the renovation of a large refrigeration plant in Building 09. The scope includes the installation and operation of three outdoor refrigeration machines and the associated hydraulic distribution and necessary ancillary facilities. The higher-level measurement, control and regulation system, including the related field cabling, is to be carried out on-site by the contractor. The new refrigeration installation will be realized with three outdoor machines; connections will be made via stainless steel refrigerant lines laid in an above-ground concrete duct. External lines will operate with a water-glycol mixture. Plate heat exchangers will hydraulically separate the external network from the building’s internal chilled-water network, with each exchanger providing four DN200 connections. The existing network connections and the building’s basic infrastructure will remain unchanged. Dismantling of the existing refrigeration generation and distribution is not part of this scope. Any required shutdowns and permissible interruption times must be coordinated with the client and construction management. Core drilling and other penetrations must be arranged as needed, and the locations of existing pipes as well as structural and fire safety requirements must be checked prior to execution. During installation, the required mounting, insulation and maintenance clearances (especially according to DIN 4140) must be observed. Valves, measuring points, vents, drainages and other maintenance-related components must remain permanently accessible.
