Digitization of the film The Blouse King

Summary

The tender concerns the preparation, cleaning, scanning, reconstruction and digital restoration of Ernst Lubitsch’s 1917 silent film The Blouse King using two 35 mm nitrate film copies. The main copy is 675 metres long and the supplementary fragment is 224 metres long; the material is in critical condition and must be processed in cooperation with L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in Bologna. The work includes 4K 16-bit DPX scanning, image restoration, recreation of tinting, reconstruction of intertitles, creation of English subtitles and audio description, and delivery of a 2K DCP, DSM, DCDM, HD master and Blu-ray image. Tenders must be submitted by 22 September 2026, the work must be completed by 31 March 2027, and price and quality each account for 50% of the evaluation.
