Metal ceiling installation for the University of Cologne’s new chemistry building

Summary

The procurement covers the supply and installation of metal and other system ceilings in building sections 1 and 2 of the University of Cologne’s new building for chemistry and science education. The work includes suspended and free-spanning metal grid ceilings, F30A fire-resistant metal ceilings, and acoustic and hygienic ceilings, together with their substructures, wall and fixture connections, cut-outs, workshop drawings, structural calculations, samples and completion documentation. Work will proceed in building sections 1 and 2 in parallel. Bidders must allow for the required work coordination and documentation, as well as arranging site logistics, lifting equipment and any additional scaffolding required. The contract is not divided into lots, variant bids are not permitted, and price is the sole award criterion. Bids must be submitted electronically through the NRW procurement portal’s bidder tool by 3 November 2026 at 13:00. The bidder must demonstrate annual net turnover of at least EUR 2.0 million in each of 2023, 2024 and 2025 and submit three references for comparable construction and installation of metal system ceilings, completed between October 2016 and October 2026 or due to be completed in October 2026. Together, the references must demonstrate experience with metal and other system ceilings; at least one project must have a net value exceeding EUR 500,000. The reference forms provided in the tender documents must be used. The offer must include the required self-declarations and completed priced bill of quantities.
