Railway safety services for the Remagen–Mainz corridor renewal
Summary
The tender covers railway safety protection and construction-related services during the extensive renewal of the Remagen–Mainz rail corridor. The work is divided into four lots and includes, among other things, safety supervision and staff, remotely controlled acoustic warning devices, automatic warning systems, temporary track barriers and signals, railway earthing and switching-request personnel, level-crossing attendants and railway operations assistants. Estimated quantities vary by lot; for example, Lot 1 includes approximately 7,352 hours of safety supervision, 22,056 hours of safety staff and 20,160 hours of railway operations assistants. Lots 2–4 also specify quantities of staff hours and technical equipment. The anticipated contract period is from 1 March 2027 to 1 April 2028. Offers must be submitted electronically in German by 08:00 on 2 November 2026. Price is the sole award criterion. A company wishing to participate must hold valid Deutsche Bahn prequalification for safeguarding services at register III level; in a consortium, at least one member must hold register III and the other members must hold at least register I. Bidders must comply with requirements concerning staff qualifications, safety, quality management and sanctions.
