UNSEA – A holistic approach to preventing the burden on the marine environment from fishing gear

Summary

The UNSEA project tender aims to develop and implement a holistic approach to prevent pollution and the burden caused by fishing gear on the marine environment, and to reduce discarded fishing gear (ALDFG). The contractor will lead project implementation, coordinate cross-sector cooperation, promote knowledge exchange, and establish long-term structures to ensure effective and sustainable delivery. The project activities focus on the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions and cover commercial, subsistence and recreational fishing, with aquaculture and inland fisheries excluded.
