EU Feasibility Study for the Kerpen-Horrem–Erftstadt Link
Summary
The tender concerns a feasibility study for a passenger rail connection between Kerpen-Horrem and Erftstadt. The study must compare three route options: reactivating the former railway line, constructing a new route connecting Kerpen town centre, and partly using RWE’s existing north–south railway. The work covers transport and demand potential, technical and operational feasibility, investment costs, and the economic assessment of the preferred option. The work is divided into Modules A, B and C and must be completed within a maximum of 18 months. The contract budget is EUR 400,000 excluding VAT, and the tender submission deadline is 9 October 2026. The bidder must provide a detailed timetable, designate a project manager and two substitutes, complete the exclusion-ground and sanctions declarations, and comply with the reporting, meeting and cooperation obligations set out in the tender documents.
