Contaminated site remediation works for the Corvinia Urban Garden project in Hunedoara

Summary

The Municipality of Hunedoara is procuring remediation and ecological restoration works at the former Hunedoara steelworks site, as a preparatory stage for the future Corvinia Urban Garden. The works cover two contaminated areas: on-site washing of granular soil in the northern area of 22,187 m² and geotechnical isolation and encapsulation in the southern area of 11,816 m². The contract also includes site preparation, management of asbestos-containing materials, soil and groundwater monitoring, and reporting. The planned execution period is eight months; the main construction works for the future garden are not part of this procurement.
