Regular archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica

Summary

The procurement covers regular archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica and its nearby necropolises in the area of Rupite, Bulgaria. The work includes manual and mechanised excavation by stratigraphic layers, site documentation, surveying, photogrammetry and 3D recording, natural-science and laboratory analyses where appropriate, initial field conservation of exposed structures and finds, processing and scientific analysis of finds, and preparation of scientific reports and publications. Field conservation costs are to represent 30% of the total amount for archaeological fieldwork; extensive restoration and display are outside the scope. The estimated contract value is EUR 325,500 and the planned duration is 92 days. Price is the only award criterion. Bidders must have completed at least one relevant archaeological fieldwork service within the previous three years; further details are set out below. No tender guarantee is required, but the successful bidder must provide a performance guarantee equal to 1% of the contract value before the contract is signed.
