Tender detail
PET and CT imaging services
Summary
The tender concerns the provision of PET and CT imaging services for patients referred by Children's Health Ireland, predominantly children and young people up to 18 years of age. The anticipated volume is approximately 80 PET examinations per year, but this is guidance only and does not constitute a guaranteed minimum volume. A multi-supplier framework agreement with up to three service providers will be established, with services ordered on a patient-specific basis. Provider selection will take account of the patient’s clinical requirements, service availability and capacity, the location and accessibility of the facility, and, where appropriate, patient and family preferences. Approximately 5% of patients requiring PET imaging may need general anaesthesia or deep sedation; the ability to provide this is preferred but not mandatory.
