Active protection of wader bird habitats on islands in the Świna Delta – protecting breeding grounds from predators with solar-powered electric fences

The contract covers installing electric fences on three islands in Woliński National Park—Koprzywskie Łęgi, Koński Smug and Wydrza Kępa—and supplementing the existing electric fence on Warnie Kępy. On the first three islands, the contractor must protect areas of approximately 10 hectares each with fences at least 1,200 metres long and 140 cm high, fitted with five electric wires. On Warnie Kępy, a 10-hectare area must be protected, the existing installation repaired and approximately 30% of the earlier fence posts supplemented. All islands are accessible only by water transport. The works must be completed by 15 November 2026 at the latest. Persons directly performing the works must be employed under employment contracts throughout the performance period.
