Sitka spruce main project, Stage 2 - harvesting of Sitka spruce, Valen-Flatval

Summary

The tender concerns harvesting Sitka spruce in the Valen-Flatval area as Stage 2 of the municipality's efforts to combat Sitka spruce. The works include harvesting up to 5,000 m3 of Sitka spruce down to a 4 cm breast height diameter, with removal of branches and handling of logging residues, terrain transport, extraction and restoration of terrain damage. The supplier must conduct site visits with landowners for each property and assign a dedicated contact person for the municipality and landowners. The work is to be carried out from 1 December 2026 to 15 March 2027; the contract will be awarded to the bid with the lowest total price that meets the requirements. The contract is contingent on political approval and agreement with at least 75 percent of affected landowners. A joint site visit is planned on 13 October 2026, and input is welcome during the questions period.
