Mowing road verges and watercourses in the Municipality of Deurne

Summary

The Municipality of Deurne is procuring mowing of road verges, watercourses, water-storage areas, reed vegetation and nature-friendly banks, together with related work, for 2027. The overall scope is approximately 19,400 ares of verges, water-storage areas and reed vegetation, and 310 km of watercourses. The tender documents specify mowing frequencies and seasons for different watercourses, collection and disposal of cuttings, and leaf removal. The contract starts on 1 January 2027 for one year, with an option for the contracting authority to extend it three times by one year. The contract is not divided into lots, and price is the sole award criterion. The work takes place at scattered locations and must account for access, traffic safety, and protection of plants and wildlife. The contractor must, among other things, prevent damage to the ground, use light machinery or manual work at sensitive locations, prepare the required ecological work protocol, and transport cuttings to an authorised facility; acceptance fees are the contractor’s responsibility. The contractor must hold VCA** certification during the contract and maintain a quality system suited to the work. A Social Return obligation equal to 5% of the contract sum excluding VAT applies. Bids must be submitted in Dutch through TenderNed with the required signed documents and a complete pricing schedule. The successful bidder may be asked to provide supporting qualification documents within seven days.
