Fire insurance for Naturalis Biodiversity Center

Summary

The contract is for fire-risk insurance for Naturalis Biodiversity Center, covering, among other things, the museum, laboratories, storage facilities and offices, their buildings and contents, a car park building, and goods at the specified locations. The total insured amount is EUR 233,925,154. Business interruption cover is EUR 15,000,000, with an indemnity period of up to 104 weeks; additional debris-removal cover is EUR 8,000,000 per event, and the deductible is EUR 5,000. The flood sub-limit is EUR 2,500,000 per event and per year. The contract runs from 1 January 2027 to 1 January 2029, with a possible 24-month extension unless terminated at least four months before expiry. Bids must state the annual premium rate per mille, the maximum share offered, and whether the bidder is offering to act as leading insurer, following insurer, or both. Co-insurance is permitted, with shares allocated by price ranking until 100% cover is reached. Price is the sole award criterion, and the quoted gross premium must include the 20% brokerage charge. Participation requires the relevant insurance authorisations, a European Single Procurement Document, a signed price sheet and, where applicable, the insurer or authorised agent declaration. Bids must be submitted in Dutch through TenderNed by 12:00 on 16 November 2026.
