Written translation, editing and proofreading services for LBTU

Summary

The Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) is procuring written translation, editing and proofreading services for three years, with an estimated total value of EUR 60,000 excluding VAT. The service must cover all specified language combinations: Latvian, English and Russian, as well as Latvian to or from Spanish, French, German, Italian, Danish, Dutch, Lithuanian, Estonian, Polish, Swedish and Finnish. Work will be ordered according to actual need and available funding, so no minimum volume is guaranteed. The supplier must provide standard and urgent translation, as well as editing and proofreading of documents already translated into foreign languages. Machine translation without additional editorial processing is not allowed. Translations must be accurate, grammatically correct and terminologically consistent, and preserve document formatting; the volume must be agreed before work begins. One standard page is 1,800 characters including spaces. Standard translation deadlines depend on volume: up to 10 pages within one working day, 11–30 pages within three working days, and 31–50 pages within five working days. An urgent job of up to five pages is due within four hours if ordered on a working day by 12:00. Editing and proofreading deadlines range from one to seven working days depending on volume; larger jobs are subject to agreement. The contract runs for three years or until its maximum value is reached, whichever occurs first. To participate, bidders must demonstrate experience in the four specified subject areas, provide Latvian–English and Latvian–Russian translators with the required education and language-pair qualifications, and submit a EUR 1,000 bid guarantee valid for six months. The complete bid must be submitted electronically in Latvian. Up to 100 points are awarded based on prices for translation, editing and proofreading, and additional services.
