Timber harvesting in Western Finland 2027, Nature Services

Summary

The tender concerns timber harvesting for restoration sites in Kauhajoki, Isojoki and Karvia, Western Finland. The work consists of winter thinning and ditch-line felling on mainly low-bearing-capacity sites during 1 January–31 March 2027 and 1 January–31 March 2028, with a possible extension to 1 January–31 March 2029 due to compelling weather conditions. The total estimated volume is approximately 3,100 m³: about 1,900 m³ in winter 2027 across four work sites and about 1,200 m³ in winter 2028 across two work sites. Harvesting residues do not have to be transported. Work may begin at each site only after authorisation from Metsähallitus; Metsähallitus is responsible for snow ploughing the roads. The tender must be submitted as a coefficient based on Metsähallitus’s tariff table, and one contractual partner will be selected.
