Replacement of the Sports Hall Flooring at San José Secondary School

Summary

The contract covers the complete renewal of the 985 m² sports floor in the sports hall at San José Secondary School in Cuenca. The work includes removing the existing floor and delivering the waste to an authorised waste handler; cleaning, repairing cracks in and levelling the substrate; supplying and installing new indoor sports flooring; applying sports markings; carrying out tests and final cleaning. Markings are required at least for basketball, futsal, handball, volleyball and badminton. The flooring must comply with UNE-EN 14904:2007, and its fire classification must be at least Cfl-s1 under UNE-EN 13501-1. The reference solution is vinyl flooring with a total thickness of at least 6 mm and a wear layer of at least 0.70 mm. An equivalent solution made from another material is permitted if documentation demonstrates the required or better performance, suitability for intensive use, durability, ease of maintenance and dimensional stability. Test reports must demonstrate impact absorption of at least 25%, vertical deformation of 0.5–5.0 mm, friction of 80–110, vertical ball rebound of at least 90% and rolling-load resistance of at least 1,500 N. Impact tests must show no breakage, cracking, detachment or appreciable permanent deformation. The tender must include the flooring technical data sheet and system description, evidence of compliance with the required standards, accredited laboratory test reports, maintenance instructions and the manufacturer's warranty. A list of similar works completed during the last five years is also required; a physical sample may be requested. The works must be completed within four weeks of signing the site-setting-out verification record, and the successful contractor must provide a warranty of at least five years from signature of the acceptance record.
