Motor Fleet, Employee Accident and Drone Liability Insurance

Summary

The procurement is for three insurance policies for the Barcelona Provincial Council and relevant affiliated bodies: (1) motor-fleet insurance, (2) employees’ occupational-accident and occupational-disease insurance, and (3) civil-liability insurance arising from drone use. A tenderer may bid for one or more lots. The total annual budget is €298,628, exempt from VAT as an insurance transaction; the respective lot budgets are €179,583, €114,400 and €4,645. Lot 2 covers employees and eligible staff of dependent public bodies; the technical specification states that 5,200 people are currently insured, while the pricing estimate uses 5,720 insured persons. Cover includes workplace accidents, occupational disease and commuting accidents. Base insured amounts are €36,000 for death and €63,000 for permanent disability or permanent non-disabling injury; for a work-related road accident, the amounts are €44,200 and €67,600 respectively. Lot 3 covers civil liability arising from drone use, with maximum annual unit premiums of €400, €475, €525 or €595 depending on drone weight. Tenderers must demonstrate the required turnover, prior insurance experience and authorisation to operate as an insurer. The offer must include every unit price for the relevant lot without exceeding the stated caps; the required declarations and lot-specific offer form must also be submitted.
