Preliminary Archaeological Investigations at Mühlau

Summary

WIGES, acting for the Federal Republic of Germany and the Free State of Bavaria, is procuring preliminary archaeological investigations for the Mühlau flood-protection project, including the Hofkirchen flood channel and associated floodplain stream. The work covers four survey areas, S1–S4, with a combined maximum investigation area of approximately 98,600 m², including potential extensions. Services include archaeological monitoring of topsoil removal, surveys and excavations where findings occur, possible emergency recoveries during construction, finds processing and transport, excavation documentation, and construction-site safety and health coordination.
