Technical building services design: operating theatre expansion and 16 IMC beds

Summary

The Berlin Red Cross hospital operator is procuring specialist design of building services for a hospital redevelopment at its Westend site, covering HOAI service phases 2–8 for wastewater, water and gas systems, heating, ventilation and building automation. The project will add two operating theatres, establish a 16-bed intermediate care unit incorporating respiratory care and a chest pain unit, and adapt operating theatres to medical IT requirements. The overall project has a gross cost framework of €25.53 million, including 10% contingency; the design work also relates to demolition and relocation activities at the Mitte site.
