Tender detail

Omnissa Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure licences

Summary

The tender covers a 12-month renewal of the Omnissa Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) licences used by Frankfurt University Hospital, together with manufacturer support and on-demand technical assistance. The service period is 19 September 2026 to 18 September 2027. The hospital requires licences for 2,500 concurrent sessions: one 50-session core package and 245 add-on packages of 10 sessions each. Of these, 1,500 sessions are for production and 1,000 for the disaster-recovery and fallback environment. The licences must continue the existing deployment without interruption, be registered to the hospital’s account, and include the VMware vSphere Foundation virtualisation component and the existing Horizon functions. Switching to a named-user licensing model is not permitted. The licence price must include at least the manufacturer’s Production Support level, available 24/7 for critical incidents. The contractor must also provide up to 15 person-days of on-demand technical support, which the hospital is not required to use in full. Support may cover incident analysis and resolution, escalation to the manufacturer, version upgrades, security patches, configuration changes, and performance and capacity analysis. Incident reporting must be available 24/7; the response time for a severity 1 incident is 30 minutes, and an analysis of the cause and an action plan must be provided within four hours. Price is the sole award criterion, and the lowest-priced net offer wins. The bidder must demonstrate at least one reference from the previous three years for technical support of a Horizon environment with at least 1,000 concurrent sessions. At least two support staff must hold a current manufacturer-related VDI certification or an equivalent qualification demonstrated by relevant project experience. Certified Omnissa partner status, manufacturer authorisation to sell and support the products, registration evidence, and liability insurance with cover of at least EUR 2,500,000 are required. The offer, including the required forms, price schedule and data-processing agreement, must be submitted electronically in German by 30 October 2026 at 12:00.
