Optical components for an integral field unit (IFU)

Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics is procuring the manufacture and delivery of four optical components for the MICADO integral field unit (IFU) on the Extremely Large Telescope: a fold mirror, a slicer mirror array, and pupil and slit mirror arrays. The slicer divides the field into 32 slices, and each of the two re-imaging mirror arrays has 32 elements. The IFU is designed to operate at 80 K in a vacuum over a wavelength range of 1.1–2.5 µm.
