Bio-waste recovery in Neumünster

Summary

The contract covers the acceptance, transport and recovery of bio-waste collected by Bio-Abfall-Verwertungsgesellschaft mbH. The annual quantity was approximately 20,800 tonnes in 2025; the contractor must take over and transport the waste and process it at an appropriately authorised facility. Composting and anaerobic digestion are permitted, but the waste must be treated before agricultural or landscaping use. The service also includes managing contaminants and treatment residues, inspecting incoming loads and providing reports. The contract starts on 1 January 2027 and initially runs until 31 December 2029; the contracting authority may extend it quarter by quarter up to 31 December 2031. Bids must be submitted electronically by 11:00 on 29 October 2026. Evaluation takes account of the prices for bio-waste recovery, transport and handling rejected material, as well as a bonus for avoiding transshipment; the award goes to the most economically advantageous admissible bid from a suitable bidder. Bidders must provide the required company and registration details, turnover information, the relevant certification and at least one reference for bio-waste treatment, and describe the proposed transfer and treatment facilities.
