Independent road safety audit of the Rehestädt–Sülzenbrücken–GITA connection
Summary
The procurement is for an independent road safety audit of the preliminary design for an approximately 1.58 km connection from Rehestädt towards Sülzenbrücken and the GITA industrial area. The route includes residential access-road sections and a rural road, serving pedestrians, cyclists, agricultural traffic and other motor vehicles. In accordance with the 2019 road safety audit guidelines, the auditor must review the design documents, conduct at least one site visit, assess potential safety deficiencies and document them in a reasoned report with clear location references. The review includes, among other matters, transitions between road sections, visibility, alignment, interactions between road users, accessibility, signs and culvert safety. The auditor must present the findings to the client and the designer, and submit a searchable PDF report by 15 December 2026. A follow-up review of a revised design is optional and will be commissioned separately. The offer must include the required auditor qualification and experience evidence, a declaration of independence, current professional indemnity insurance evidence and a priced offer.
